Work, Work

09/30/08 | by Charlie [mail] | Categories: Classes

It has been somewhat of a shock moving from High School to Yale, so much has changed. But one of the hardest things to deal with is time management. Having four classes should be easier than having six or seven, right? But let's see if that is really the case...

Busy, Busy Weekend

09/29/08 | by Charlie [mail] | Categories: College

Really a non-stop weekend these past few days. I got up early and hung lights for "Creation of the World and other business" until it was time for me to head out to the cross country meet to take photos, after that I stopped back to Silliman for dinner before heading out to the Women's Soccer game for more pictures. Finishing, my Saturday off with the Trolly Dance, which was pretty cool. Sunday began the same way with focusing the lights until it was time for VQ practice, after which I grabbed dinner and headed out to a concert at the nightclub here. Time to learn about Freud now!

A Capella Tap Night

09/26/08 | by Charlie [mail] | Categories: College

A Capella is one of the most unique things at Yale. There are TONS of groups (over 10), with numerous styles ranging from Christian to Pop to Jazz to all of the above. Most of the groups are truly phenomenal, as such there is a huge drive to recruit the best freshman possible into Yale A Capella. I thought I'd share some information about the A Capella scene at Yale...

Forget me not

09/25/08 | by Charlie [mail] | Categories: The Life

It's been a while since I last posted, well not that long really. But it's been quite a boring / exciting few days: A Capella rush occured last night which was very fun. I've also been doing tour calls all week to try and figure out where we can perform this Winter with the VQ. In addition, I've searched flights for probably 3 hours to figure out winter break plans and arrangements for friends to visit, etc. My operation has been moved so I am ecstatic that I will be able to go on tour, it sounds like an amazing experience! Additionally, the football pictures have been running in the paper all week, and I will be taking multiple portrait photos over the next few days of the new Dean canidates.

I plan to write a series of entries over the next couple days detailing some of the cool things at yale that should give insight into activities here. Turns out multiple people actually hit the blog searching for details on Rush Night, so maybe it will be helpful to others. Cool, huh? Classes are keeping me VERY busy, but more importantly we have almost beaten Mario Kart!!! Yeah college is great. More to follow soon!

Yale football vs Georgetown

09/20/08 | by Charlie [mail] | Categories: Sports, Photography, Yale Daily News

Well, turns out Yale has a decent football team as Georgetown got trounced this weekend. I enjoyed taking my first football pictures too! I put up some game summary pictures on facebook for everyone to check out. Yale really killed them, so I had a good time and played around with a huge lens and a monopod for the first time. Not as exciting as Friday Nights used to be, and certainly not close to Big Ten football, but still good stuff. Beautiful day for football! Also, the photoblog might have a new picture soon as well.

Have a good weekend!
